The Philippine Superliga Grand Prix women’s volleyball boils down to this: Petron will lean on experience, Cignal on teamwork, Foton on its triple towers and Philips Gold on Bojana Todorovic.

The league’s top four teams mix it up in a no-tomorrow semis Thursday at San Juan Arena. Calling it would be tough because they have beaten one another during the double round eliminations.

“Whoever blinks first loses,” said Cignal coach Sammy Acaylar.

Cignal, whose imports Ariel Usher and Amanda Anderson have jelled seamlessly with the local crew, will square off with defending champion Petron, the team touted to bring home the crown.

Petron coach George Pascua said the Blaze Spikers must be “more consistent in executing the game plays,” in order to realize their goals.

Cignal and Petron have split their elimination matches both via five-set fashion.

Philips Gold clashes with Foton in the 4 p.m. match.

With a five-game winning streak going, Philips Gold built a strong momentum going into the semifinal, leaning larnegely on import Todorovic, the 2011 NCAA champion from University of California-Los Angeles who lately has been scoring and defending heavily.

Against Petron last Monday, the 6-foot-1 Todorovic was an unstoppable force as she unloaded a conference-high 38 points.
