Olivarez advances in NCC q’fiers

OLIVAREZ College reached the qualifying round after ruling the recent South Luzon-Bicol regional games of the 2015 National Collegiate Championship (NCC).

The Dream Hunters turned back gritty host Naga College Foundation Tigers, 78-74, in the regional finals to earn a slot in the Luzon-Metro Manila qualifiers, set Dec. 9 to 13 in Manila and Tanauan City, Batangas.

Representing the United Calabarzon Collegiate League (UCCL), the Dream Hunters also edged regional contenders Calayan Educational Foundation of Quezon province, Sorsogon’s Computer Communications Development Institute, Tabaco’s Amando Cope College, Laguna’s STI College-Sta. Rosa and NCAA-South’s St. Francis of Assisi College.

The Dream Hunters next face heavyweights National University, Mapua and Jose Rizal U in the Luzon-Metro Manila qualifiers.

Other qualifiers are St. Clare College, TIP, PATTS and the North-Central Luzon leg winner.
