NLEX’s Anthony atones for muffed gimme with career game

Sean Anthony made up for his late-game blunder in NLEX’s loss to Ginebra last week with a career performance.

Anthony scored a career-high 37 points, capped with a closing three-point play in the Road Warriors’ 111-106 win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

The 29-year-old Anthony, who has emerged as an explosive scorer in the 2016Philippine Cup, said he devastated after missing a potential game-winner from pointblank in a 91-90 loss.

The heartbreaking moment, though, prompted the Fil-Candian forward to work harder and make sure to bounce back against Rain or Shine.

“I felt super super down last game, I feel like I really let my teammates down,” Antbony said Saturday. “It just sparked the motivation in me to play for my team and to come out together, and get ready for the playoffs, and get the momentum building.”

“I never want to force the issue. I don’t want to come in and try to force it,” Anthony said. “I prepped myself extra hard, work extra hard, and focus. I was extremely focused for this game.”
