Payday Friday traffic didn’t spare anyone, not even coach Yeng Guiao.

The Rain or Shine coach, who was supposed to call the shots for the Elasto Painters in the team’s do-or-die Game 6 affair at Smart Araneta Coliseum, was stuck in traffic on Friday on his way to the game.

That left Rain or Shine under the guidance of deputy Caloy Garcia and assistant coach Mike Buendia for the entire first quarter. Guiao go to the venue with under nine minutes left in the second quarter, with his team in the lead, 28-19.

Arriving with his wife Jenny, Guiao immediately went straight to the court and joined his squad.

This was not the first time this has happened to Guiao. He was late to Rain or Shine’s game vs Alaska in December 2014 and vs Barako Bull in 2012.

To make matters worse for the Elasto Painters, Paul Lee incurred a swelling on his recently recovered knee, ruling him out for three to four weeks.
