PSL: Petron loses 3 stars
TWO-TIME champion Petron lost a huge chunk of its championship core as superstars Aby Maraño, Rachel Daquis and Dindin Manabat won’t be with the team for the season-opening PSL Invitationals that starts Feb. 18.
The TriActive Spikers lost Maraño to free agency, Daquis to another squad and Manabat to motherhood. Manabat is set to give birth in August and is likely to skip the entire season.
But team officials are unfazed as it signed collegiate star CJ Rosario from Arellano University, returning spiker Bang Pineda and veteran Aiza Maizo.
The lineups were presented during Tuesday’s team owners’ meeting at Bonifacio Global City.
Daquis will return to Army, which will carry the franchise of RC Cola starting this conference. Maraño was also listed in the RC Cola-Army lineup but the team won’t avail of her services, making the former La Salle captain a free agent available for the rest of the teams like Foton, Philips Gold, Cignal, and newcomer F2 Logistics.
F2 Logistics, a freight forwarding corporation, has built its brand-new franchise around Cha Cruz.
