White targets November as Rousey’s UFC return

Ronda Rousey’s return to the UFC is set, and if all goes well, it would happen in the grandest stage of all: Madison Square Garden.

UFC President Dana White said in the Big Boy show Rousey would return to the sport in November after now UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm knocked her out in UFC 193 in November of 2015.

“She’s very intense,” White said, as per MMAFighting.com. “She’s a badass, man. She’ll be back.”

Rousey was originally slated to return at UFC 200 on July 9 but White said it would be early for the former champion as she has Hollywood priorities in the first half of 2016.

Dave Sholler, UFC vice president of public relations, told MMAFighting.com once MMA is legalized in the state of New York, the Octagon may end up in the Empire State and a Rousey fight inside the Garden would be a major draw.

White is confident the once dubbed Most Dangerous Unarmed Woman in the World would be back to her old self in time for her return.

Despite Rousey’s struggle in the social media landscape after her loss to Holm, White knows it was bound to happen since Rowdy is a figure to receive both jeers and cheers.

“She’s one of those polarizing figures that so many people were bummed out that she lost and so many people were very happy she lost. She incites both,” White said.
