Bulldogs still unbeaten in UAAP lawn tennis

National University extended its winning run to 35 ties after posting two victories in men’s play of the UAAP Season 78 lawn tennis tournament.

The four-peat seeking Bulldogs opened their campaign with successive 4-1 wins over De La Salle and Ateneo at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

NU’s winning streak is currently the second longest in any sport in the league behind Adamson University’s 64-game run in softball.

University of Santo Tomas streaked to two straight wins to seize the early lead in the women’s division.

The Tigresses nipped the Lady Archers, 3-2, before following up with a 4-1 victory over the Lady Eagles.

After drawing an opening day bye, the Lady Bulldogs set their title-retention campaign in motion with a 5-0 blanking of the Lady Maroons.

Action resumes Saturday with five ties, three in the men’s division and two in women’s side starting at 8 a.m. at the Malate venue.
