LAS VEGAS–Follow what my son did to Manny Pacquiao last year and win.

This was the unsolicited advice Floyd Mayweather Sr. gave to Timothy Bradley on Thursday at the press center of Pacquiao-Bradley III at MGM Grand here.

The elder Floyd was referring to the fight strategy adopted by Floyd Jr. in handing the eight-division world champion a loss by unanimous decision before announcing his retirement.

It would also help Bradley if he uses the same game plan that dropped Brandon Rios twice last November.

“I’m picking Bradley,” said Mayweather. “Bradley may be the underdog, but I want him to beat Manny.”

According to Mayweather, Teddy Atlas, Bradley’s trainer, is doing a good job thus far.

“I can see the difference on Bradley,” said the 63-year-old former boxer.

“If Bradley fights that way right there (vs Rios), Pacquiao doesn’t have a chance,” said Mayweather, expounding on the formula his son used to thwart Pacquiao, who, as it turned out, suffered a torn right rotator cuff in the fourth round and was hurting throughout.

“That is what my son did. He hit him when he wanted to and then went and moved. Moved and hit him. That’s it and Bradley can do the same thing.”

Provided, of course, that Pacquiao did not learn from that beating.

Team Pacquiao has studied also tapes of not only the Mayweather fight but also his duels with Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez, with trainer Freddie Roach saying that those two fighters were the ones who gave Pacquiao the most trouble.
