Reyes passes on swagger to rest of La Salle as she bids farewell

For five years Mika Reyes wore the green of De La Salle, the middle blocker made it a point to become one of the school’s best alum.
Reyes has been one of the league’s best blockers for the past several seasons and on Saturday, she upped her title count to three.
After strong ladies of La Salle like Aby Maraño and Michelle Gumabao graduated, Reyes inherited that swagger and now, as her college career ends, she has to pass it on.
But Reyes doesn’t have just one person in mind.
“Sa lahat para matuto,” Reyes said with a smile worth a championship.
With Kim Dy winning the Finals MVP, it can be said the quiet outside hitter could be the heiress, but Reyes is confident that there are others who will step up for the Lady Spikers.
“May different composition ang team next season, di lang naman siya ang maiiwan, may mga mag se-step up pa dyan.”
And just like in Reyes’ first two years where she saw seniors Gumabao, Melissa Gohing, Wensh Tiu walk out of the team with titles, she too wanted to leave as a champion.
Now that her playing career is over, Reyes is off to the real world.
“As of now wala pa, try ko mag Master’s if kaya and then look for a job,” said the graduating AB Psychology major.
