Meet Steph Curry’s baby doppleganger, ‘Stuff Curry’
Move over Riley Curry, there’s a new Steph ‘mini-me’ in town.
Instagram (IG) has fallen madly in love with 10-month-old baby Landon Lee Benton, who holds an uncanny resemblance with the 2-time NBA MVP, Stephen Curry.
Dubbed as ’Stuff Curry’ for his adorably full figure and splitting mirror image to the Golden State sharpshooter, the chubby toddler’s IG page has garnered over 40,000 followers.
Meanwhile, the kid’s mother, Jessica Benton, admitted that she wasn’t particularly thrilled with the Internet-bred nickname at first, but decided to embrace it, so his son will not get bullied.
“I’m not going to let them fat shame my baby and put it all over online and I just give up there,” Jessica was quoted saying in a Bleach Report article. I wanted to really turn it into something good and take control of it and say, “OK, we’re gonna own this name. Yeah, we’re Stuff Curry. We look like the famous basketball player”.
Landon’s mom, who also runs his IG account, added that she had no idea who Steph Curry was at the time, until someone saw a photo of her baby on social media and pointed out their likeness.
Benton also said that she has received mostly positive messages about her son online, and even Curry’s sporting brand, Under Armour, sent young Landon some tiny Curry Two’s and Warriors apparel.
The Benton household aren’t big on basketball, but Jessica is hopeful that the Warriors squad, “will win everything.” Khristian Ibarrola
