Myla Pablo has enjoyed one of the better careers in the UAAP with the National University Lady Bulldogs, establishing herself as one of the most reliable scorers in the league.

NU’s captaincy in Season 78 belonged to Pablo in a campaign the Lady Bulldogs were expected to be title contenders but ended up as afterthoughts.

It wasn’t the best of moments for Pablo, who was part of the Under-23 roster of the Philippines, but on her first match against her former team she put all those struggles behind her.

Pablo put up 18 points in Pocari Sweat’s five-set win over NU, including the final one that put their record at 2-0.

“Wala naman ako gustong patunayan, past na yun, kung ano nangyari sa UAAP past na yun,” said Pablo Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

In her last year, NU finished with a 7-7 record that only put them at fifth seed.

NU’s poor season was put on the shoulders of the captain but Pablo said her relationship with Lady Bulldogs head coach Roger Gorayeb remains cordial.

“Fault ko naman nangyari sa UAAP, and pinagtatanggol lang naman ako ni coach Roger.”
