Another Blue Eagle is on the move.

Jerie Pingoy is bound for Adamson, announcing his departure from the Blue Eagles’ nest on his Instagram account late Monday night.

He posted a photo of him in an Ateneo jersey, with the caption: “Thank you Ateneo for the 3 awesome years. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my bosses and alumni, to the coaches, for making me part of the program and to all the friendship I made. I am forever grateful. Good luck for this upcoming UAAP! OBF!!”

Pingoy, the former UAAP juniors MVP from Far Eastern University, only played a season for Ateneo after serving his two-year residency due to the UAAP controversial rule, which even sparked a Senate inquiry.

The 5-foot-9 playmaker averaged 4.0 points and 2.9 assists in Season 78, hobbled by an ankle injury which kept him out of action for the majority of the tournament.

Adamson coach Franz Pumaren confirmed the transfer, saying “Pingoy is already enrolled in Adamson.”

Pingoy is the second player to leave the Blue Eagle nest in the offseason, following the footsteps of CJ Perez, who is now in Lyceum.

More transfers from Katipunan are expected to come out in the open as the Season 79 nears.

Hubert Cani is also rumored to be bound for the Soaring Falcons, but Pumaren clarified, “I have no idea where he will go.”

As for Pingoy, the outspoken mentor said that he sees him as a major key for Adamson’s future.

“He will definitely play a major role next year. He is a natural leader and athlete and we feel that he can excel in our system,” he said.
