Marcio Lassiter wasn’t shooting the lights out when San Miguel were in a pinch against NLEX, and his 0-of-6 three-point percentage was the stuff of shooters’ nightmares.

Then winning time came and Lassiter dispelled his demons and nailed the game-winner that catapulted the Beermen over the Road Warriors 94-93.

“Honestly every time I take a shot, I believe it’s gonna go in, so that’s why I’ve been able to make so many shots, for me I always know the last shot is not gonna help me with the next shot,” said Lassiter who finished with eight points, on 3-of-10 shooting, and nine rebounds.

Lassiter’s three came off a pick-and-pop play with import AZ Reid.

Reid took the double team, freeing up space for Lassiter to take the shot near the left wing.

“I just focus with the play that we have, the moment right now, I knew I missed all my threes, I just told myself to keep shooting, and I was getting good looks,” said Lassiter. “It wasn’t like I’m taking bad shots.

San Miguel was down 93-88 with 1:04 remaining before San Miguel point guard Alex Cabagnot shaved off some of the lead with his transition triple at the 27-second mark to close the gap at 93-91.

Lassiter said his last triple was a “huge sigh of relief” for him after his poor shooting performance.

“It came at the right time, I didn’t know what’s gonna happen if I got my hands on it, just shoot it, I wasn’t gonna hesitate, I knew I have the confidence to take it.”
