Not even a ripped pants can spoil the mood of Star coach Jason Webb as long as his team comes out on top.

“Us having a losing streak, I’m going to rip my pants again. Whatever it takes to win,” he said.

Webb inadvertently ripped his pants while pleading for a call in the third quarter. Though a number of fans kept on egging him to return to the dugout and change it, he wagered on and stayed with his team.

But that was not the lone distraction he and the Hotshots had to deal with, as a power outage momentarily stopped the game early in the fourth.

Fortunately for the first year coach, that allowed him to go back to the locker room and have it sewn.

The Hotshots would go on and gut out a tough 105-102 overtime victory over GlobalPort for their first win of the conference.

“Lets just say that we won so it’s supposed to be good,” Webb said.

Winning for the first time in three outings, Webb shared that the positive result just relieved a lot of pressure from Star, which has struggled to find its footing this conference.

“It just feels like lahat ng bola, it doesn’t seem to fall in our way and we had to get over it. Last game pa yun, na lahat ng loose ball hindi napupunta sa amin,” he said.

“We’re hoping that this will turn things around. GlobalPort played one hell of a game, but our guys played better enough.”
