FOTON seeks a share of the lead in the second round of eliminations when it takes on Petron today in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference women’s volleyball at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

After a superb five-set win over three-time champion RC Cola-Army last Thursday, the Tornadoes are favorites against the Tri Activ Spikers in the 6:30 p.m. match.

In Group B action which only determines the fifth to eighth placers, Amy’s Kitche battles Generika at 2:30 p.m., while Cignal faces Standard Insurance-Navy at 4:30 p.m.

But the Tri Activ Spikers can’t be overlooked as they are coming from a five-set battle against unbeaten leader F2 Logistics.
“We simply ran out of gas,” said Petron coach George Pascua after dropping a 25-20, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-8 decision to the Cargo Movers. “Things get tough from here. Everybody is serious to gain a good spot in the semis.” Marc Anthony Reyes
