V-League: Soltones sizzles as San Sebastian trumps Perpetual

Grethcel Soltones flashed her MVP form as San Sebastian fended off a hard-fighting University of Perpetual Help side, 27-25, 25-22, 25-22, at the start of the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Collegiate Conference Saturday night at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Soltones, the reigning NCAA and V-League Open Conference MVP, was a class of her own with 20 points, nearly making 50% of her 41 spike attempts.

Cindy Imbo had 11 points while Ma. Lourdes Clemente registered nine points but the Lady Altas just didn’t have any solution for Soltones.

Perpetual Help also shot itself in the foot with 36 errors.

Katherine Villegas added nine points for San Sebastian.
