Mighty-PH sweeps way to Jones Cup title

NEW TAIPEI CITY—Mighty Sports Apparels romped to a 104-80 victory over Taiwan-B to cap the Philippine representative’s successful campaign in the 38th William Jones Cup with an eight-game sweep at Xinzhuang gym here.

The Philippines tied Iran with the second most number of titles with five and ended the tournament with an average winning margin of 17.4 points.

Backed by Scratch It and Symarom, Mighty is eyeing another international title late September when it joins the Merlion Cup in Singapore.

There are also possible stints in the PBA D-League and the Asean Basketball League.Dewarick Spencer topscored for Mighty with 27 points.
