Chinese-Taipei blasts Malaysia in AVC tilt opener
BIÑAN—Chinese-Taipei opened up the Asian Volleyball Confederation Asian Women’s Club Championship in strong fashion ramming through Malaysia in straight sets, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21, Saturday at Alonte Sports Stadium here.
Chiu Ya-Hui led Taichung Bank, the club team representing Chinese-Taipei, with 16 points while Chen Yu-Chieh added 12.
Malaysia was at the mercy of Chinese-Taipei’s offense absorbing 45 spikes while only returning 26.
Chinese-Taipei also dominated the service department with 11 aces.
Malaysia team captain Stephanie Law Feng Nie led her team with eight points while Low Mei Ching had seven.
