Far Eastern University continued its impressive run as it crushed University of Santo Tomas, 59-48, for a sixth straight win in the UAAP Season 79 men’s basketball tournament Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The defending champions improved to 7-2 while the Growling Tigers slid down to 2-7, the worst record in the eight-team league.

Despite the win, Tamaraws head coach Nash Racela expressed disappointment with how some of his players played “selfish” against the Tigers.

“I felt that in this game, other guys were using the game to get confidence, and that was kind of selfish,” said Racela who also saw his players strut with complacency.

“Maybe a combination of UST’s record and us winning six straight, yung dalawa, then again it’s a normal tendency of people, even us.”

UST’s scoring output was the worst of any team this season as the Growling Tigers shot the ball with a disastrous 18-of-69 clip.

Jojo Trinidad led FEU with 16 points, 12 of which came off the three-point line, while Raymar Jose added nine points and 14 rebounds.

Louie Vigil had 18 points and six rebounds for UST but turned the ball over seven times.
