Valdez, Customs stop UST’s unbeaten run

Bureau of Customs went back to winning ways and stopped University of Santo Tomas in three sets, 25-17, 26-24, 25-15, in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Alyssa Valdez led the Transformers with 19 points while guest player Kanjana Kuthaisong added 16 points as BOC improved to 3-1 after falling to Bali Pure in its previous outing.

BOC dominated in the offensive department unleashing 42 spikes against the defense of the Golden Tigresses, who only managed 27 attacks.

UST also gave away 23 points due to errors.

Cherry Rondina and EJ Laure had eight points each to lead the Golden Tigresses, who suffered their first defeat after a 4-0 start.
