Air Force jams Cignal, bags Spikers’ turf crown

Bryan Bagunas and Mark Gil Alfafara conspired to give Philippine Air Force a 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22 victory over Cignal and the Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference title last night at Philsports Arena.

Bagunas accounted for 27 points while Alfafara unloaded 21 for the Jet Spikers, who swept the best-of-three title series over the HD Spikers.


It was the second straight title for PAF which also ruled the Open Conference.

Bagunas bagged the Finals Most Valuable Player award while teammate Howard Mojica ran away with the Conference MVP and First Best Outside Spiker plums.


In the battle for third, Champion Supra also swept Instituto Estetico Manila, 27-25, 26-28, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11.

Champion Supra’s Jan Paglinawan was Best Opposite Spiker, PAF’s Jessie Lopez was adjudged Best Setter and Cignal’s, IEM’s Kheeno Franco was First Best Middle Blocker.

Later, BaliPure outlasted University of Santo Tomas, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-18, to move within a win of the bronze in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference.
