F2 Logistics will have to deal with a “super import” boasting an 85-kph serve, while RC Cola-Army will face an unstoppable force.

With odds stacked against them, the Cargo Movers and the Lady Troopers gun for championship berths today in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at Ibalong Centrum in Legaspi City, Albay.

Standing in the way of F2 Logistics is Petron, which is led by American do-it-all import Stephenie Niemer. Game time is at 5 p.m.

RC Cola-Army takes the floor at 10 a.m. versus league-leader Foton, which, according to its Serbian coach Moro Branislav, is just about ready for the title.

Winners will automatically make the best-of-three finals.

“We’ll address that problem, they said it’s 85 kph (Niemer’s serves),” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus. Last time out, Niemer rained down nine of Petron’s 13 aces.

The Cargo Movers have a big gun on their arsenal as well in the person of powerful 6-foot-4 Hayley Spelman. The trouble is, according to De Jesus, she can’t read Kim Fajardo’s sets.

“Hopefully we play better in Albay,” said De Jesus.

The Lady Troopers have an even bigger problem: The entire Foton crew with Lindsay Stalzer, Ariel Usher, Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat forming a formidable front in just about any rotation.

“We added more hours in practice and hope to improve on all areas because Foton is our biggest problem,” said RC Cola-Army coach Kungfu Reyes.

Branislav also downplayed Usher’s injury.

“Little problem with Ariel (Usher due to sprain),” said Branislav.
