Adamson bounces back, rips UPIS in UAAP jrs basketball

Adamson quickly put its first loss behind in the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament after whipping University of the Philippines Integrated School, 77-59, Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Encho Serrano had an efficient 22-point, 10-rebound outing in just 22 minutes to power the Baby Falcons, who hiked their record to 8-1 after dropping a 75-73 loss to Far Eastern University on Saturday.

Down by three at the start of the second half, Adamson regained control after outpointing UPIS, 25-15, in the third quarter.

The Baby Falcons dominated the last two periods where they outscored the Junior Maroons, 48-27.

Gerry Abadiano added 20 points while Carl Vincent Tamayo notched a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds with two blocks to boot for Adamson, which swept the first round.

Juan Gomez De Liaño paced UPIS with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Junior Maroons, who were out-rebounded, 63-42, fell to 3-6.
