Arellano out to stun SSC

Arellano U tries to complete a remarkable turnaround when it clashes with San Sebastian College on Tuesday in the finals of the 92nd NCAA women’s volleyball at PhilSports in Pasig.

The Lady Chiefs can wrap up their second crown in three years with a victory in the 4 p.m. duel with the Lady Stags.

San Sebastian entered the finals needing to win only twice as an incentive for its elimination-round sweep, leaving Arellano with the challenge to beat the Lady Stags three times.

Last Friday, the Lady Chiefs took Game 2, 18-25, 25-16, 25-11, 26-28, 15-13, against the Lady Stags who played out-of-sorts, their dip in form coming at the worst possible time even with three-time Most Valuable Player Grethcel Soltones showing the way.  —CEDELF P. TUPAS
