Choi, Tiu, Rodriguez lead top driver race

Karter Jerry Choi, GT driver Edwin Rodriguez, drag racer Jonathan Tiu and superbikes rider Marvin Mangulabnan loom as the men to beat when the 2016 Golden Wheel Awards Night picks the Driver of the Year on March 18 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig.

Choi, Rodriguez, Tiu and Mangulabnan head the 11 nominees during the annual red-carpet event.

Motocross legend Dennis Acdol will be inducted into the Golden Wheel Hall of Fame during the rite with the theme “Uncompromising Safety in Utmost Professionalism.”

An independent panel of judges made up of motorsports’ officials and select members of media will pick the winner. —TED S. MELENDRES
