Antons conquer slalom field
Iñigo Anton made the switch from karting with ease as he notched four victories in the opening leg of the Phoenix Petroleum National Slalom Series held recently at Robinsons Novaliches tracks.
The 12-year-old Anton bagged the “Novice Best Time of the Day” trophy with a time of 46.18 seconds and had three division wins.
Anton’s father, Carlos, meanwhile took the “Front Wheel Drive Best Time of the Day” and had four first-place finishes.

“Iñigo is amazing,” the proud father said. “I won my first Novice best time when I was already 20.”
The younger Anton struggled early on with his new car but quickly adjusted his strategy to take home four titles in his slalom debut. —STEVE SILVA
