Manny Pacquiao unloaded hard punches against George Kambosos and Adrian Young on Monday, leaving his spar mates battered and bruised.

His training team was delighted, of course, especially chief trainer Freddie Roach, who decided to scrap a planned sparring session in Brisbane, where Pacquiao will dangle his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against Australian Jeff Horn on July 2.

“Binugbog. Binira na (They were roughed up),” was how training assistant Jonathan Peñalosa described Pacquiao’s eight-round display of speed and power.

Fact is, Young’s legs wobbled when Pacquiao landed a left straight in the third round, while Kambosos’ face turned reddish due to a flurry of jabs.

Ancajas ready

Like Pacquiao, Jerwin Ancajas declared himself ready to stake his International Boxing Federation super flyweight belt against Teiru Kinoshita of Japan.

According to Joven Jimenez, Ancajas’ trainer/manager, the 25-year-old- pride of Panabo, Davao del Norte, is 95 percent in shape for the chief support of the Pacquiao-Horn tussle to be aired live by ESPN.

Ancajas has sparred more than a 100 rounds for the second defense of the crown he won with a unanimous decision over McJoe Arroyo of Puerto Rico last year.

At the moment, Ancajas is still six pounds over the 115-lb limit, although he doesn’t see any problem making the weight.
