Andre Paras said that all he’s thinking about is helping AMA Online Education nab victories in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Paras has been averaging 7.3 points, 18.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks in the three games he has suited up for coach Mark Herrera.

“Honestly, I just want to help the team win no matter what happens. I trust my teammates and the reason why I rebound a lot is because I just want to find a way to contribute,” said the second-generation star.

The 21-year-old churned out his best game to date on Thursday as he racked 10 points, 22 rebounds, and four blocks in the Titans’ game against Batangas.

However, those efforts went for naught as AMA absorbed its fourth straight defeat, a 95-76 loss to the Batangueños, to remain as the lone winless squad this conference.

Paras couldn’t hide his disappointment following another setback as he noted that the Titans have been doing everything it could just to claim that elusive win.

“It’s frustrating for all of us. We give our all and do our best in defense and offense, but sometimes, that’s basketball. We don’t know what’s the problem because we do everything to get the win, but that’s not what’s happening for us,” he said.

The 6-foot-4 slotman, though, acknowledges that there are still facets of his game that he needs to finetune to be of better help for AMA.

“I’ve been averaging five fouls per game and I’d like to defend myself na I try my best to stop the ball. If I could lessen it, it would really help a lot,” he said. “Also, hopefully I can improve my three-point shots because everytime I’m on the outside, I need to make an adjustment, whether I hand-off the ball or pass it to someone. It would help if I can shoot the three.”

And Paras wishes that his teammates can also pick up the slack if the Titans aspire to end their losing skid soon.

“I hope I can inspire my teammates. If everybody does the same hustle, I’m sure, the deficits will go down and we’ll be able to get leads in the future,” he said.
