Cocolife enters QF on wings of victory
Paired with super teams in the quarterfinals, Cocolife made sure it enters the next round on a winning note.
The Asset Managers needed just three sets to dispose of the lowly Cherrylume Iron ladies, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19, Tuesday night in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference in Baliwag Star Arena in Bulacan.
Michelle Gumabao led Cocolife with 10 attacks and an ace for only its second win in six games.
“Communication, we struggle with it because my teammates sometimes we talk, sometimes not,” said the team captain. “We are trying to solve that issue in practice. But we’re getting there.”
Now the Asset Managers need to do it fast because they are matched up with Cignal in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
“Obviously there is still a lot to improve on,” said Gumabao, who provided Cocolife with what the team needed from her.
“A lot of people are giving me motivation to become the leader, so I need to put in extra work and take care of my conditioning,” she added. “But as for the team we would need a total team effort.”
