Brisbane could stage potential Pacquiao-Horn rematch
BRISBANE, Australia—Manny Pacquiao wants a rematch, Jeff Horn is amenable, and this beautiful city is willing to stage it again.
Revered promoter Bob Arum may yet be forced to stage a Pacquiao-Horn II if the main parties involved in the “Battle of Britain” come to terms early.
That’s because, Pacquiao-Horn carries a rematch clause.
Pacquiao, being the champion, can ask for a repeat in case he gets stunned and stung by the Hornet.
It happened Sunday night and the probability of another war between Pacquiao and Horn is quite high.
Especially with Horn emerging as the new poster boy of Brisbane as a city of great events.
Fact is, a ticker-tape parade has been arranged for Horn by the city and state government on Thursday.
A true-blue Queenslander, Horn has been given all-out support by city bigwigs, providng him with enough financial support and a training team that includes dieticians and doctors.
Now that he has delivered, the city wants to pay Horn back.
With the city coffers richer by at least $25 million owing to the influx of thousands of vistors, including Filipinos from Sydney and Melbourne, top tourism official Kate Jones said they would gladly staged Pacquiao-Horn again.
But in a different level and scale as the hometown boy is now the champion.
