Arcilla, Iglupas to defend Olivarez Cup crowns

Johnny Arcilla and Khim Iglupas will be back to defend their Open titles in the Olivarez Cup, an annual tennis festival featuring age-group and elite players, which unfurls Aug. 4 at Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque.

The age-group tournament is set Aug. 4 to 9 while the InterSchool nonranking event for men’s and women’s featuring the singles and doubles competitions will be played Aug. 10 to 15.

The centerpiece Open is slated Aug. 10 to 16 after the Aug. 8 to 10 qualifying rounds.

Registration is ongoing for the two-week ranking tournament culminating in the Open Championship among the country’s top players, including members of the national pool and team. Deadline for listup is on July 24.
