Ilocos, Stallion draw, still winless
Ilocos United and Stallion Laguna remained in search of a first victory after battling to a 1-1 stalemate last Sunday in a Philippines Football League clash that was cut short by poor pitch conditions at Quirino Stadium in Vigan.
The match was called off at halftime due to deteriorating conditions of the field caused by heavy rains.
Fil Nigerian striker Chima Uzoka gave Ilocos the lead before Stallion equalized through Jess Melliza as the two clubs picked up a point for the draw.
The result meant the two clubs remain in the bottom of the table with Stallion in seventh with four points, a point ahead of cellar-dweller Ilocos.
Stallion resumes its search for a first win when it visits JPV Marikina on Wednesday at Rizal Memorial Stadium, while Ilocos travels to Metro Manila to face Kaya at University of Makati in the first of back-to-back matches against the Makati club. —CEDELF P. TUPAS
