Emilio Aguinaldo College point guard Francis Munsayac said Friday he’s unsure of the severity of his right ankle sprain after the Generals lost to San Beda 81-69 in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament.

“The physical therapists told me that they’ll try to have it fully recovered by Tuesday, they just gave me pain relievers for now so I really don’t know how painful my ankle is,” said Munsayac in Filipino after their game at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Munsayac sprained his ankle in the 2:12 mark of the fourth quarter with the Generals trailing 72-59 after he stepped on Javee Mocon while crossing the halfcourt line.

Despite leaving the game prematurely, Munsayac was still able to put up a game-high 21 points, on 8-of-14 shooting, to lead EAC in a losing effort.

Munsayac, though, downplayed his personal accomplishment saying his points are just mere numbers in a loss.

“Stats don’t matter in a loss,” said Munsayac. “Whatever happens, when we lose they shouldn’t think that Francis scored a lot of points. Don’t do that because we’re a team.”

“Stats will only matter to us if we win.”
