Jabril Trawick’s PBA debut was also his last game for GlobalPort.

Trawick didn’t make it hard for the Batang Pier to let him go with an atrocious showing in the team’s 98-96 loss to Rain or Shine Friday night.

Trawick had twice as many fouls as points. He scored three points on 1-of-5 shooting from the field in 16 minutes of action before fouling out with still 5:46 left.

But the early ouster of the 25-year-old guard also turned out to be a blessing in disguise for GlobalPort, which played comfortable without Trawick on the floor.

“We’re not happy the way he’s performing, especially in our last tune-up game against Meralco,” said Pumaren. “First tune-up game, he played well, 27 points, but second game, he looked different.”

Pumaren added Trawick is already on his way out and that his replacement, whom he did not disclose the name, is set to suit up in GlobalPort’s game against Phoenix on Wednesday.

Trawick’s horrible outing, however, wasn’t the reason why the Batang Pier bowed to the Elasto Painters, who, in contrast, drew a 25-point, 15-rebound effort from import James Weatherspoon.

“We lost because of our mental lapses, it’s more mental mistakes, offensive rebound, leaving the guy wide open, those things,” Pumaren said
