A stellar cast seek the distinction of becoming the inaugural champion of the PGT Asia Tour blasting off Tuesday with the $100,000 Aboitiz Invitational at Manila Southwoods in Carmona, Cavite.

Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit leader Tony Lascuña, multititled Miguel Tabuena and Japan PGA Tour veteran Angelo Que will head the local challenge against foreign bets led by Thai Pasavee Lertvilai, low medalist in the PGTA Qualifying School.

American John Michael O’Toole, Indonesians Joshua Wirawan and Elki Kow; and Korean-American Micah Shin are also expected to figure prominently.

Other Filipinos tipped to contend are OOM No. 2 Clyde Mondilla and Jay Bayron, who nipped Malaysian Gavin Green to win last year’s staging of the Aboitiz Invitational at Wack Wack.

Put up by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTS) and organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., the circuit will feature six other $100,000 championships.
