Emilio Aguinaldo College sent Mapua into a deeper pit after taking an 85-72 victory in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Generals improved to 4-6 to stay in the Final Four hunt while the Cardinals remained at a league worst 1-11 card.

EAC, however, will be shorthanded as big man Hamadou Lamidou had his season cut short after an ACL tear and enforcer Juju Bautista got sidelined with an injured shoulder.

“I hope we can still fight,” said Generals head coach Ariel Sison. “We’ll just play our usual game and try to win as many games as we can.”

Jerome Garcia paced EAC with 27 points while Sydney Onwubere finished with 16 points and 15 boards.

Laurenz Victoria put up 15 points to lead the Cardinals.
