Santos, Matias rule Senior Masters in Sletba Open

Ed Santos of Pasig Bowling Association bagged the Senior Masters championship of the 21st Sletba Open during the finals held Friday night at the Sta. Lucia Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.

Santos scored 1,790 pinfalls in the 8-game series to thwart the valiant bid of Samuel Matias, a member of the Philippine paralympic team, who finished with 1759 to place second.

The other top finishers were Alfred Kang of SJCBA with 1755, and Daboy Mendoza of Sletba and Jack Interia of ATBA-Gruppo, both with 1730.

The top five finishers received cash prizes.

The finals for Group 2 will be held Saturday afternoon, while the finals for Group 1, or Masters category, rolls off on Sunday.

The Masters division is paced by Kevin Cu, seeded since he is the defending champion, Krizziah Tabora of TBAM-Prima and a member of the national pool, Dennis Gallardo of Sletba-GMTBC, and Jason Ko of Sletba./asu
