MANILA, Philippines—Football star David Beckham, Landon Donovan and the rest of football club L.A. Galaxy arrived Thursday afternoon for a three-day visit in Manila.

From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the defending Major League Soccer champions headed straight to Makati Shangri-La hotel for a press conference.

The Galaxy, also bannered by Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, will host a football clinic for children on Friday and will tangle with the Philippine national football team on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial stadium as a part of its Asia-Pacific tour.

The Galaxy planed in from Indonesia, where they defeated the host’s national team, 1-0, Wednesday at the half-empty Bung Karno Stadium.

Tickets for the friendly at the RMS—ranging from P2,000 to P15,000—remain available two days before match via Ticketworld.

these big nationwide superstars pag bibisita sa ating bansa para ma promote naman ang bansa natin, we should accpet them, as we are known to be respectable and hospitable people..nasaan na ang pag-galang na sinasabi natin palagi sa ating mga kabataan.  we should be proud? Yes our hero Manny P. he is also a symbol for our generations.  kaya this is an apportunity na makilala naman ang ating bayan bukod sa sariling atin, afterwards they gives us big benefits through sports and etc.. etc. peero sa mga sagapal naman na ginagamit lang sila para mapansin ng madla..forget it….kaya di uunlad ang ating bansa dahil maraming garapal sa pera na galing ibang bansa. bato bato sa langit ang matatamaan huwag sana magagalit..for its true?

Minsan ang di maganda sa ating Pilipino pasiklab na lang lagi.  Wag nag makipagpaligsahan kung sino ang maraming pera.  Total asset (liquid alone) he is already worth £650,000,000 (liquid lang yong – pounds yon not dollar).  Not including Beckingham Palace, house in Knightsbridge, chateau in France, LA, New York, Dubai.  Hindi pa natin sinasama yung shared money nung asawa nya! As much as I like our own boxer, his promotional extent is limited, I dont think Armani or Dolce Gabbana will ask him to promote their products.  Manny is currently one of the highest paid sportsman but his gross worth is not as big.

Wag na rin nating gamitin ang boxer natin na pang sabong kase wala namang nakikipag sabungan.  Lets just be glad that our country is slowly going to be in the big arena – can you just at least try to make an effort? Kaya tuloy tayo nasasabihan na uneducated some Filipino keeps posting comments about subject they know nothing about…. Btw all, not all Filipino are like that

Do you know how much he got paid just to sign up with Galaxy? $100,000,000.00 and I am not including sponsorship, his previous salary at Man United and Real Madrid!  So be thankful he and the rest of Galaxy team has taken the time to do a friendly game to boost football in Philippines.

that is the reason they came for a friendly game, to popularise football which is not known to a lot of Far East Asian country.  At least now we are talking about it, it is catching the interest of people. Btw Galaxy did not get paid from the ticket sales, they get paid way too much money to even care about ticket sales in Asia.  It is pro bono
