Michael Calisaan believes that the improved team chemistry has been the biggest factor for Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian as it finally won back-to-back games in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.

“The team is really jelling now,” he shared after the Revellers’ 87-65 victory over Go for Gold on Tuesday. “What we’ve been putting focus on is our teamwork. We may be a new team, but now, we’re seeing signs of improvement in our past two games.”

Calisaan has had a huge hand in keeping Che’Lu-San Sebastian in the thick of things midway through the conference, averaging 12.29 points and 8.71 rebounds.

Revellers have also drawn huge contributions from guys like Allyn Bulanadi and RK Ilagan, and  their standout showing is exactly what the team had in mind when they decided to join the first conference of the developmental league.

“We wanted to have the experience. This is another level for us to learn in preparation for our NCAA season and it’s just going to help us in the long run,” said Calisaan.

Sitting at fifth with its 4-3 card, Che’Lu-San Sebastian wants nothing more than to continue its winning ways going to the homestretch of the eliminations.

However, a familiar foe stands in the Revellers’ way in their quest to stretch that streak to three: Zark’s Burger-Lyceum.

Calisaan very well knows how tough the duel will be next Tuesday, especially with the Jawbreakers, mainly composed of the Lyceum Pirates, owning the number of the Golden Stags-backed Revellers, may it be in the NCAA or in the other collegiate tournaments.

“I really want to win against them. We haven’t won against Lyceum,” he shared.

Getting that victory, at least for Calisaan, may very well be the best birthday gift he can ask for as he turns 23 years old in that day.

“I really wish we can get that,” he said. “We’ll really work hard for it and continue helping each other.”
