It took four months for Terrence Romeo to get back to a PBA court again, and he admitted that he wasn’t prepared for the physicality in his return.

Romeo was sidelined due to a knee injury since the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup and only returned to action in Globalport’s final elimination game in the Philippine Cup last Friday.

“I’m still adjusting to the PBA game because when I was out the only workout routine I did was jogging,” said Romeo in Filipino Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum after the Batang Pier lost to Phoenix 104-100.

“Now that I’m back on the floor, I’m bumping against other guys who are really strong so my body was surprised with all this physicality.”

It can be noted that, prior to the game against the Fuel Masters, Romeo’s last official PBA game was still under the commissionership of Chito Narvasa who tried to limit the physicality in the game.

Current commissioner Willie Marcial has given more leeway to physical play when he was named as the PBA’s boss at the start of the 2017-2018 season.

Romeo, despite finishing 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting, said he was at odds when he threw his shots up.

“I’m quite shocked because this is the first time that I’ve seen the defenses again, the traps and all that, before I already knew what to do but now I’m still adjusting,” said Romeo who shot 1-of-7 from deep.
