Tornadoes reel from absence of Santiago, Carlos

/ 05:02 AM March 12, 2018

Two-time champion Foton, currently dealing with a bumpy ride in the ongoing Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, is longing for standard bearer Jaja Santiago and incoming star Diana Carlos.

Unfortunately, both are on duty with their respective schools in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament that runs simultaneously with PSL.

The discordant schedule of the local volleyball scene has put a wedge on both players and teams which had to make crucial adjustments.

At 2-3, the Tornadoes are within striking distance of making the semifinals of the PSL but they would need the presence of the 6-foot-5 Santiago, whose National University is tied for the UAAP lead with La Salle at 6-2, and Carlos, University of the Philippines’ top gunner.

Carlos, the UAAP’s No. 4 scorer, is expected to suit up for the Tornadoes in the knockout Final Four set April 24.
