De La Salle Lipa, Letran Bataan clash in NBTC Division 2 Finals
De La Salle Lipa went tit-for-tat against St. Benilde International School Calamba before pulling of the 79-78 win to advance to the Division 2 championship round of the National Basketball Training Center National Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Dale Lupac scored the game-winning layup with 5.7 seconds left in the game for Lipa after getting the hand-off from Stephen Javier off his own inbound pass.
Ian finished with a 21-point, 15-rebound double-double to lead La Salle while Javier put up 20 points and five assists.
Raphael Dimayuga and Mathew Virtucio added 12 points apiece for Lipa while Lupac finished with 10 points, six coming in the fourth.
Andrei Liu had a game-high 27 points to lead Calamba while Shawn Algire had 10 points and eight rebounds.
In the first game, Letran Bataan put down Saint Louis School Dumaguete, 59-45, to also move on to the title round.
Aerone Santos put up 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead Letran Bataan while Julius Garcia flirted with a double-double with 10 points and eight boards.
Kenneth Malzarte had 11 points to lead Dumaguete while Cyril Repe added nine points and 10 boards.
