San Miguel has inarguably been the most dominant team in the PBA for the past three seasons.

The Beermen have compiled six titles from 2015 until the early part of 2018 when they won their fourth straight Philippine Cup, beating Magnolia, 108-99, in Game 5 Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

San Miguel is thoroughly in the midst of greatness, and in the middle of that success is four-time MVP June Mar Fajardo.

For point guard Chris Ross, having Fajardo alone puts them one step closer to become one of the greatest teams ever.

“We all benefit from his greatness, he’s in the conversation of probably being the best player ever to play in the PBA,” said Ross, who also compiled a resume worth of note.

“What makes it work is he’s such a selfless guy and I think he could probably average 30 if he wanted to but I don’t think that’s in him. He wants to share the limelight and pass the ball. He doesn’t want it all to be about him.”

Ross is a two-time Finals MVP and was two steals away from a quadruple-double in the Beermen’s closeout game of the Hotshots.

Fajardo’s monstrous double-double in Game 5, however, was too big of a shadow that it towered over Ross’ line of 13 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and eight steals.

The Kraken put up a ridiculous 42-point, 20-rebound double-double that earned him his second Finals MVP.

“I’m glad he’s the leader of our team and I’m glad that I’m able to play with someone as humble and as great as him,” said Ross. “40 and 20 in a closeout game? That’s for you guys to talk about. He works hard and he really does this for us.”
