Unbeaten Ph Youth batters nip P’Cali in Summer Slam

The Philippine Youth women’s team sustained its hot charge, edging Team P’Cali, 2-1, to stretch its win run to five halfway through the Summer Grand Slam 12 softball tournament at the Sto. Niño ballpark in Marikina over the weekend.

The Nationals kicked off their title drive in emphatic fashions, ripping the University of the East and Indonesia sides, 10-0, and 8-1, respectively, in the Open division on Friday.
They also dominated the Chikara-Brunei squad, 7-2, before nipping fancied Adamson U, 3-2.

In another match of the 49-team strong event, Adamson Alumni blanked La Salle, 5-0.

Danao Xterra Triathlon under way April 22

Danao City primes up for another staging of the Xterra off-road triathlon Asia-Pacific championship on April 22.

Last year’s edition in the Cebuano city saw South African Bradley Weiss and Carina Wasle of Austria top the 1.5-kilometer swim-28K bike-8K run race.
Danao will stage Xterra until 2019 with the organizing Sunrise Events Inc.
Also on tap are competitions in Lite individual and relay (750K swim-14K mountain bike-4K trail run) and individual duathlon (2K trail run-14K mountain bike-4K trail run).
