Beau Belga runs away with PBA Obstacle challenge crown

BATANGAS — Beau Belga went on a flawless run and came away with the trophy.

The Sorsogon native proudly hoisted the Rain or Shine flag as he won Obstacle Challenge in the 2018 PBA All-Star Week Friday here at Batangas City Sports Center.

Belga had no hitches in his run in the championship round, finishing the track in 21.7 seconds.

“I was just challenged because it was my teammate who is the defending champion,” he said.

Maverick Ahanmisi was last year’s title holder, but did not return because of the big men’s entry in the skills competition.

JP Erram was the bridesmaid in the contest with his time of 29.6 seconds, while Gabby Espinas clocked in 30.5 seconds.

Belga bagged the P30,000 cash prize in the contest, presented by Phoenix Fuel with Phoenix Pulse Technology.

Justin Chua, Kelly Nabong, and Yousef Taha all made it to the semifinals, while Russel Escoto, Sonny Thoss, Aldrech Ramos, Ken Bono, Asi Taulava, and Raymond Aguilar all bowed out in the first round.
