Jeric Teng shocked to see brother Jeron bloodied with ‘deep cuts’
It was only last night when Jeric and Jeron Teng faced each other on the court for the first time in almost four years, this time in the big league.
The morning after, Jeric was visiting his brother in the hospital after a brawl gone wrong, where Jeron was stabbed multiple times along with Norbert Torres and Thomas Torres.
“When I went to the hospital, I was really shocked. There was so much blood, I thought you only see that in the movies,” Jeric on Sunday told reporters at the police precinct where he arrived with his father Alvin.

Just before Jeron and his former La Salle teammates suffered multiple stab wounds during a brawl outside a bar along the Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City, the Teng brothers were going at it in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Just like the last time they met in the UAAP, it was Jeron who was crowned the victor as Alaska sunk Jeric’s Globalport, 109-103, Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Of course I’m happy because after so many years we’re playing against each other,” said Jeric in Filipino in an interview Saturday night. “It’s a different scenario not just because we’re on different teams but we have different roles but again I’m happy and we got to defend each other at one point.”
Jeron plays an average of 15 minutes a game with numbers of 4.33 points and 4.33 rebounds for Alaska while Jeric sees just five minutes per outing for GlobalPort.

Jeron couldn’t help but be happy to be playing against older brother but he did have a different take on how he will act in front of Jeric once they get home.
“Of course I’m going to annoy him because I’ve won against him in college and here in the PBA I won in the first game we played each other,” said Jeron, also after the game.
Now, Jeron is looking at a road to recovery from his injuries and the Teng family is about to face a different battle on the court against the suspects, who were immediately apprehended by the police early Sunday.

“His cuts were deep. On his back, on his side. He was very lucky it didn’t hit any vital organs,” said Jeric in the same interview at the precinct.
Jeric is questioning the alleged self-defense argument of suspects Edmar Lacanlale, 40, and Williard Basili, 37.
“Even [Norbert Torres, Thomas Torres], all of them had deep cuts. How can you say it’s self-defense if it was the three of them who got hit the most?”
