BaliPure survives Iriga in PVL quaterfinals
BaliPure had to go to the extension periods to dispatch Iriga-Navy, 25-17, 18-25, 20-25, 26-24, 18-16, in the round robin quarterfinals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Water Defenders joined BanKo atop the quarterfinal standings with 1-0 records.
Janisa Johnson led the way for BaliPure with 27 points while Alexis Matthews had 19.
The top two teams in the round robin quarterfinals will then move on to the semifinals to face either top seed Creamline or no.2 PayMaya, which got automatic byes to the penultimate round due to their 6-1 and 5-2 records in the eliminations.
Macy Ubben had a game-high 32 points to lead the Lady Oragons while Lauren Whyte had 23.
Mhicaela Belen and Roselyn Doria added a combined 27 points for the Water Defenders.
