Eagles, Archers renew rivalry

/ 05:04 AM June 12, 2018

Ateneo puts its immaculate slate on the line against no less than bitter rival La Salle with top seeding in the playoffs in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup up for grabs on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Tip-off is at 4 p.m.

The Blue Eagles, the reigning UAAP champions, have won their first eight games but could lose the No. 1 spot in Group A with a loss.
La Salle is running second with a 7-1 card, its only loss coming at the hands of San Beda.

The Archers can grab top ranking with a win because of the winner-over-the-other rule.
The quarterfinals starts June 28.

In the 7 p.m. nightcap, the Gilas Cadets try to exit the tournament on a bright note when they clash with winless Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Lyceum battles University of Santo Tomas in the 12 noon contest with both squads playing for nothing but pride even as the Red Lions tangle with ousted Mapua Cardinals in the 2:30 p.m. game.

The first ever Hanes One-On-One King of the Hardcourt culminates when College of St. Benilde’s Prince Carlos takes on Letran’s Mark Taladua in the title game that happens right after the Ateneo-La Salle match.

Tickets can be purchased at the gates.
