D-League: Marinero-TIP fends off Batangas-EAC

Marinerong Pilipino-TIP scored an 80-74 come-from-behind win over Batangas-EAC in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Monday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Engineers improved to a 5-3 card while the Generals dropped to 3-5.
Batangas held a 17-point cushion heading into the payoff period before Marinerong Pilipino outscored the Generals in the fourth quarter, 32-9, to snatch the win.
“We were not getting our bearing at first because the starters were not able to set the tone but the I told them the during the half time that they will not be in this team if they are not winners and winners find ways to win, to turn things around and that’s what they did,” Engineers head coach Koy Banal said.
Marinerong Pilipino had 15 second-chance points compared to Batangas’ four.
Trevis Jackson led the Engineers with 20 points, five rebounds, and four steals while Irven Palencia added 10 markers.
