‘Sagupaan’ Nat’l derby draws 1,127 entries

THE “1st Sagupaan National 9-Cock  Derby” series, a brainchild of sabong idol Patrick Antonio, is  shaping up to be the biggest cockfighting spectacle this summer.

As of yesterday, the number of registered entries climbed to 1,127 with 20 more elimination rounds left in different cockpits.

Over at Pasay City Cockpit, eliminations will be held on April 16, 20, 23 and 26. Semifinals is on April 30.


Submission of entries at PCC will be held until 9 p.m. today.

“We are on the right track of hitting the target of 1,500 entries,” said organizers Eric dela Rosa and Butchoy Olano.

The top scorers so far are 16 bets with five wins each.The ‘Sagupaan’ series, backed by Sagupaan Complexor 3000,  has a guaranteed prize of P15.1M. Call 8431890, 8431746 and 816-6750 for details (Cheche or Jennie).
